Q
What is a Professional Organizer?
A

In general, a professional organizer is someone who helps you get and stay organized by providing information, recommendations, resource referrals, products and support in order to create a more simple and efficient work and/or living space.

Q
Do you do Feng Shui?
A

Although we know something about Feng Shui, and incorporate some of its ideas on our organizing work, we are not experts. However, Feng Shui experts would tell you that one of the most important concepts of Feng Shui is getting rid of clutter because it stagnates energy.

Q
How long does organizing usually take?
A

Small organizing projects such as closets, pantrys, playrooms or kitchens may be completed in a single session (3 - 6 hours). Complete home reorganizing projects can take 3 - 10 sessions. A small to average room with light clutter can be organized in 3 - 16 hours (not including closets). Closets may require 3 - 12 hours or more depending on the size. Entire homes with multiple bedrooms and lots of clutter may take as many as 40 - 80 hours. Offices with lots of paper and clutter average anywhere from 6 - 80 hours or more. All of these estimates are dependant on how much effort you put forth in between sessions, how quickly you make decisions and your ability to let go of clutter.

Q
What are the benefits of working with Professional Organizers?
A

Organizing is more than simply minimizing your belongings, organizing them and making everything look tidy. The best organizers will help you recognize the cause of the disorganization, as well as provide solutions to create a lasting change in your environment and your organizational habits. In addition, professional organizers make it their job to learn about the latest processes, resources and products to make organizing easier. You will get access to many ideas and solutions that you would never have the time to research and try out on your own.

Q
A

Absolutely Not. A good organizer will never force you to throw anything away - especially if you have room to store it. We recognize that eliminating items can be difficult, but doing so is a necessary part of the process. and can lead to unbelievable transformations. It is entirely up to you to make all the decisions about what to keep and what to discard.

Q
Am I going to be spending a lot of money on organizational products?
A

We try to work with what you already have, thinking creatively to find you organizing accessories and solutions that fit your budget. If products are needed, we will make recommendations and either you can buy them prior to a follow-up session. or we will shop for you. Personal shopping rates are located on the services/rates page.

Q
Is it okay to give a professional organizer access to my personal papers and belongings?
A

Yes. SPACICS keeps everything that we see and talk about confidential. Although we do show some before and after photos on this site, each client signs a release and gives us permission before these photos are uploaded.

Q
What is your pricing and how do I pay you?
A

Spacics works in half day (3 hr) or full day (6 hr) sessions. A time estimate will be given for the job after the initial assessment is complete. Payment is required at the end of each session in cash or personal check. Spacics does not accept credit cards. Please see our Service/Rates page for more information.

Q
I would like to use your service. How do I get started?
A

Together we will schedule an initial assessment meeting. This fee for the initial assessment will be waived if a first session is scheduled during the initial assessment meeting. During the assessment, we will discuss what is working and what is not working for you, what is essential for the space and what is causing the disorder. Then we will schedule our first appointment and create a plan for how to proceed. All you need to do is go to the Contact Us page and give me a call.
